Simply put, eating crickets can help you save the world, get your body in good shape, and tastes great! Just to share a bit of our history, we have wanted little more than to do something beneficial for the world with our careers. When we learned how many resources could be saved, including the Amazon Rain Forest and tons of fresh water, by substituting conventional forms of protein with crickets, we were hooked. Nutritionally speaking, crickets pack quite a punch for your protein requirements. They also contain all essential amino acids and are high in iron, calcium, B vitamins, and fiber. When cricket consumption is compared to conventional forms of protein, there is no comparison. Just one tablespoon of cricket powder, which is ground-up, dried crickets, gives you 6 grams of protein, 25 grams of fiber, 4% of the daily value of iron for a 2,000 calorie diet, 2% of calcium, and 30% of vitamin B12. All that comes with just 45 calories, 1 gram of carbohydrate, 30 milligrams of sodium, and 2 grams of total fat: 1 gram of saturated fat and 1 gram of polyunsaturated fat.
Cricket powder can be mixed in with your pancake batter, cookie dough, smoothies and whatever else you can think of. Cricket powder is not the only way to go, though. You can also prepare delicious meals with whole crickets as your protein. In most parts of the world, people have been eating crickets for centuries.
