BBQ Cricket Mix
BBQ Cricket Mix
Our roasted crickets and toasted seeds are smoky and sweet with a little spice. The perfect snack mix with any beverage, we love them on a hot day with a frosty mug.
How Do We Make It?
We start with food-grade crickets grown in our urban farm. (We use proprietary cricket feed and processes to bring you the most delicious crickets available.) Then we roast them in the oven until they're good and toasty, combining them with a rich, smoky barbeque seasoning and organic sunflower seeds.
How Do We Eat It?
Most often, we'll pour a few bags of cricket snack mix into a bowl alongside other snacky finger foods when we're having company. We're also known to toss them in a bag for an easy snack on the go, at work, or at our kids' sporting events.
But they're also great as a topper for other foods. The barbeque mix is great on top of pulled pork (sandwich, taco, plain) to add an unexpected crunch. Or on top of a chef salad with ranch dressing.

Why eat crickets?
For the health of the planet and our bodies, crickets are the future. An ideal protein source, they have twice as much protein, emit less than 1% of the greenhouse gases, and use less than 0.5% of the water as beef.
Crickets are packed with protein, minerals, and pre-biotic fiber, making them great for your gut health and overall nutrition. While over 80% of the world's population eats insects, it's still uncommon where we're from. That's why we're introducing crickets through delicious chocolate treats and snacks.

What do crickets taste like?
Our food-grade crickets are raised specifically to promote a delicious eating experience, and taste different from any others you may have tried. They have a mild, slightly nutty flavor that reminds people of pumpkin seeds, almonds, and even puffed rice. They pair well with almost any food, but we like them with chocolate, caramel, and spices.
Great use of barbecue flavor, but it's not replacing my favorite potato chips anytime soon. The sunflower seeds are going to be the predominant texture, but be warned, unlike the clusters and other sweets here, you will know that you're eating crickets.
Super BBQ taste, great nutritional profile!
These snack mixes are fantastic! I have two young boys and I am always looking for healthy and portable snacks. These are wonderful alternatives to chips, crackers or pretzels. Both my kids enjoyed them... and the adults did too!
BBQ and Taco are great for little ones. FYI!
