This is a staple of my Monday morning routine. Packed with nutrients from all the fruit and vegetables, it's like a reset button after a long weekend. I like the idea of jumping into the week with a belly full of all sorts of good things.

There are as many green goddess smoothie recipes as there are nutrition influencers. But unlike all the others, this one has cricket powder and a seal of approval from the first urban cricket farm on the Internet. I've seen people add pineapple, cucumber, celery, kiwi, ginger--basically anything. But I don't. We have other smoothie recipes with that stuff in it. I like the simplicity of this recipe -- It's easy to make, and exceptionally nutritious.
Ingredients
-
1 Green apple, peeled and chunked
-
1 Banana - preferably frozen
-
1 ½ c. Spinach (fresh)
-
½ Avocado
-
1 Tbsp. Chia seeds
-
1 Tbsp. Pure Cricket Powder
-
1 ¼ c. Almond milk (or your preferred milk)
Directions
Toss everything in the blender, adding the liquid last
Give ‘em a spin
Drink up, you deserve it!
Recipe Note
It's hard to determine the serving size, because I like the whole thing to myself. But if I absolutely have to, I'll split this between two people. It's up to you if you're the generous type.
As you can see, I like to top it with something crunchy, like slivered almonds or puffed quinoa.
